Every plastic nursery pot carries a size, and Grovie hardware is built around that same number. Knowing where to find it makes picking a cache pot, saucer or insert a one-step job.
Where the number is stamped
Look at the underside of the pot, or around the inside rim near the drainage holes. Growers mould the diameter straight into the plastic, usually as a plain number with no unit — a 4, a 6 or an 8. That number is the rim-to-rim width in inches, measured straight across the top opening.
What 4, 6 and 8 mean
Grovie's own line matches those three widths exactly: 4 in, 6 in and 8 in. A pot marked 4 sits inside a 4 in cache pot; a 6 sits inside a 6 in cache pot, and so on. There's no in-between sizing to think about — three numbers cover the range.
If the number reads 3.5, 5 or 10
Some growers round to a half size or step outside the usual run. For a 3.5, size up to a 4 in cache pot — the nursery pot will sit with a little extra room at the rim. A 5 rounds up to a 6 in cache pot the same way. A 10 in nursery pot is outside the current Grovie range, so hold off until a larger size is added.
Measuring rim to rim yourself
No stamp, no problem. Lay a tape measure flat across the very top opening of the nursery pot, from one inside edge of the rim to the opposite inside edge, and round up to 4, 6 or 8. That's the number to shop by.
